Sports Kit for Schools
What a school sports kit actually contains — the shared PE kit a physical education teacher uses with every class, plus the game equipment that changes with age group — with quantities for a class of 30, indicative price bands and annual replenishment guidance. Supplied across Bengaluru and Karnataka on one GST invoice.
The Two Halves of a School Sports Kit
Schools usually buy sports equipment as a list of games — footballs, basketballs, cricket — and then discover the PE teacher spends most of the year on cones, ladders, ropes and mats. A working kit has two halves, and both need budgeting.
The first is the physical education kit: the shared, game-neutral equipment used in every PE period for warm-ups, circuits, agility work and mass participation. It is cheap per item, used daily, and replaced most often. The second is game equipment, which changes completely between primary, middle and senior sections — not just in quantity but in ball size, weight and hardness.
Quantities below assume one class of 30 on the field at a time. Prices are indicative bands for planning and management approval, not quotations.

Storage, Marking and Court Infrastructure
Two things decide whether a kit survives its second year: where it is stored and who signs it out. We supply ball trolleys with nets, heavy-duty kit bags and lockable sports-store shelving alongside the kit, and a simple issue register is worth more than any warranty.
- Marking — 30 m fibreglass tape, marking chalk or ground paint, boundary cones and corner flags for the ground.
- Nets and posts — volleyball and badminton posts (fixed or portable), basketball hoops with backboards, football goals in junior and full sizes.
- Courts — basketball, volleyball, badminton and multi-purpose court construction with flooring, marking and lighting, quoted separately from the kit.
- Surrounding equipment — play equipment for the junior yard, outdoor gym equipment for fitness zones and EPDM rubber safety flooring where children land.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a school sports kit contain?
A school sports kit has two halves. The shared PE kit is what a physical education teacher uses with every class: marker cones and discs, agility ladders, adjustable hurdles, skipping ropes, hoops, bean bags, foam balls, exercise mats, medicine balls, a tug-of-war rope, stopwatches and whistles, a measuring tape and marking kit, an equipment trolley and a sports first-aid box. The second half is the game-specific equipment, which changes with age: soft and rubber balls at primary, size-4 footballs and basketballs and badminton at middle school, and match-grade balls, full cricket kits and athletics field events at senior level.
What are the items in a physical education kit?
A standard PE kit item list for one school: 40 marker cones and 40 disc markers, 4 agility ladders, 12 adjustable hurdles, 40 skipping ropes sized by height, 30 hoops, 40 bean bags or quoits, 30 foam balls, 20 exercise mats, 6 medicine balls in 1, 2 and 3 kg, resistance bands and a 20 m tug-of-war rope, 6 stopwatches and 6 whistles, a 30 m measuring tape with marking chalk, two or three ball trolleys or kit bags, and one stocked sports first-aid kit with cold packs. That set runs a full PE timetable for a single-section school.
How much does a school sports kit cost?
As indicative bands: a primary section kit is about Rs. 35,000 to 80,000; a middle school kit with ball games in class sets, badminton, indoor games and an athletics starter set is Rs. 80,000 to 2 lakh; and a senior school kit with match-grade equipment, full cricket kits, field events and a fitness corner is Rs. 2 to 5 lakh. Budget a further 15 to 25 per cent of the kit value each year for replenishment, because balls, shuttles and ropes are consumables in daily use.
How many balls does one class need?
For skill practice, one ball between two or three students keeps everyone active, so ten balls covers a class of 30 comfortably and twelve gives you spares for the ones that go over the wall. For match play you need far fewer, but match-grade balls are a different purchase from practice balls - most schools buy practice grade in quantity and a small number of match-grade balls kept for fixtures.
What changes between a primary and a high school sports kit?
Size, weight and hardness. Primary equipment is soft-skin and size 3: foam balls, rubber playballs, 7 ft skipping ropes, low balance beams. Middle school moves to size 4 and 5 balls, real badminton rackets, table tennis and the first athletics implements. Senior school is full size and match grade, with protective equipment for cricket, field-event implements at competition weights and a fitness corner. Buying senior-size equipment for juniors is the commonest and most expensive mistake in this category.
Do you supply sports equipment on GEM or against school tenders?
Yes. We quote itemised, GST-invoiced lists suited to trust or management approval and to government and aided-school purchase processes, and we supply against departmental requirement lists. Send the tender or requirement schedule and we will return a line-by-line quotation.
Do you also build courts and playgrounds?
Yes. Court marking, posts and nets, and full basketball, volleyball or multi-purpose court construction are quoted separately from the kit. We also supply outdoor play equipment, outdoor gym equipment and EPDM rubber safety flooring for the same campus.
How quickly can a school sports kit be delivered?
Standard kit items are typically delivered in three to seven working days across Bengaluru and one to two weeks to other districts in Karnataka. Match-grade cricket kits, table tennis tables and athletics implements can take longer if a specific make is asked for. Court infrastructure is a separate project schedule.
