The Five Things to Get Right

1. Size the panel from the room, not the budget

A screen is comfortably readable to about four times its diagonal — roughly 20 feet for a 65-inch, 25 feet for a 75-inch, 29 feet for an 86-inch. Measure the distance to the back row before anything else. An undersized panel is the most common and most expensive mistake in a smart classroom setup, because the back rows quietly stop using it.

2. Confirm the wall

A 75-inch panel weighs about 42 kg, an 86-inch about 51.5 kg. Brick and RCC walls take a fixed VESA mount without preparation. Partition and drywall classrooms need a backing plate or a mobile floor stand. This is settled at survey, before the order.

3. Put power and network where the panel is

One 5A earthed point within 1.5 m of the mount, on the classroom circuit. If the school runs teaching through power cuts, put the panel behind the same UPS or inverter circuit as the lights — it draws far less than the projector-plus-PC setup it replaces. An EDLA-certified panel is only useful online, so campus WiFi that reaches the back of the classroom, or a LAN drop at the panel, belongs in the same budget line.

4. Fix the glare before you fix the mount

A panel on a wall opposite an uncovered window is unreadable for the first two periods of the day. Where the room layout forces it, budget for blinds. This costs very little and decides whether the panel gets used.

5. Train the teachers who will actually use it

Every installation includes an on-site session covering the whiteboard, screen sharing from a phone or laptop, Google Classroom and Meet, and the AI tools where the panel has them. Schools installing ten panels or more get a refresher session after the first term, which is when the real questions surface.

Smart Classroom Setup by Institution Type

The hardware is largely the same. What changes is the size, the mounting height, the content and how the room is used.

Primary Schools (Class 1-5)

65-inch panels, mounted lower so younger students can reach the writing area. Emphasis on audio, animation and phonics content. Durable mounts and cable concealment matter more here than anywhere else.

High Schools (Class 6-10)

75-inch is the standard. Science and mathematics rooms get priority — simulations, geometry construction and board-aligned content give the clearest teaching gain. Board-exam revision material and saved lesson boards are used heavily.

PU Colleges (Class 11-12)

75 or 86-inch, in rooms that are usually deeper and more crowded. Lecture capture, past-paper walkthroughs and content shared to students after class are the features that get used. Larger sections make the 86-inch worth the difference.

Coaching Centres & Tuition

65-inch in smaller rooms, often on a mobile stand so one panel serves two batches. Recording and sharing sessions is frequently the main reason for the purchase, so network and storage matter as much as the display.

Special Education

Height-adjustable or floor-stand mounting for wheelchair access, high-contrast display settings, and touch sensitivity tuned for students with limited fine motor control. Audio clarity and the ability to slow or repeat content matter more than screen size.

Auditoriums & Assembly Halls

98-inch panels or an LED wall, with a structural mount and a dedicated circuit. Used for assemblies, parent meetings, teacher training and inter-school events as much as for teaching.
